Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra

This orchestra based in Temple Theatre at Saginaw Bay, Michigan is an ensemble of  60 professional musicians that was first created in 1935 as a Saginaw Department of Parks and Recreation project.

Annual concert series have been performed ever since 1935 and in 1953 it was names as a non-profit corporation and became of the American Symphony League charter members.

The orchestra gives classical, chamber, ballet, historical, modern dance, opera and pops performances as well as  educational programs with the music selected by the Music Director who consults with the audience, Board of Directors and audience.  It has also given world premieres of works by local composers.

The orchestra’s past conductors include Paul Freeman from 1978 to 1980, Leo Najar from 1980 to 2003, Patrick Flynn from 2004 to 2008, Brett Mitchell from 2010 to 2015 and Fouad Fakhouri has been the Music Director/Conductor of the orchestra since June 2016.
