The singer and keyboardist Roy Young formed this band after he had broken up as a performer with Cliff Bennett & The Rebel Rousers in 1970. They stayed together through changes in line-ups and recorded at least two albums with their second producing the 45 release “Rag Mama Rag” in 1972.
1972 would prove to be a good year for them as they would back Chuck Berry in concert in Coventry, England, and his performance of “My Ding-a-Ling” would be recorded and reach No. 1 in the UK and US charts.
