Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra

This Australian orchestra is the symphony orchestra based at the Queensland Conservatorium at Griffith University.

The orchestra is made up of the young musicians in attendance at the Conservatorium and rehearse from a large repertoire on a weekly basis. The string musicians are also included in the Conservatorium’s String Orchestra program.  They perform at the establishment’s own theatre where the stage is also shared with other ensembles.

The musicians are required to go through auditions to ensure they meet the high standards set by the Conservatorium and must provide performances of two contrasting pieces of music which they have chosen personally.

Many of the musicians at the Conservatorium also get the chance to take part in an internship with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
