Guitarist and songwriter born James Pebworth who was in a band with fellow composers Eddie Miller and Robert Yount in the late 1940s who became one of the original co-writers of “Release Me”. For some inexplicable reason, Miller and Yount agreed with Four Star Records entrepreneur William McCall that his pseudonym W.S. Stevenson should replace Williams’ name in 1957.
