Singer-songwriter and tambourine player who co-wrote “Disco Ride” with Jolyon Skinner and Michael Zager. It was the flip side to “Working My Way Back to You/Forgive Me Girl” by The Spinners. Eltesa would collaborate quite a bit with Michael, appearing on albums such as the simply titled Zager.
In 1980, she sang vocals on Brass Construction VI and Cissy Houston’s Step Aside for a Lady, and contributed “Split Decision”, to The Spinners album, Love Trippin’. The song was co-penned by Doug James, with whom she would also write “I’ve Got a Feel for You”.
In 1981, she played tambourine on Elusion’s All Toys Break and sang backing vocals on The Neville Brothers’ Fiyo on the Bayou. She did the same on Alvin Field’s Special Delivery and Lenny White’s 1983 album, Attitude.
Eltesa has appeared with the show band, Tangerine, and can be heard on the 1999 CD, Uptown Rulin’: The Best of The Neville Brothers.
