Arranger, music publisher, producer and songwriter born in Brooklyn, New York, who was probably best known for co-writing the Elvis hits “Good Luck Charm”, “I Got Stung”, “It’s Now Or Never”, “Santa Bring My Baby Back To Me” and “Stuck On You”. He also co-wrote Rosemary Clooney’s debut single, “At A Sidewalk Penny Arcade”, in 1948, and went on to write the lyrics to Barry White’s “Love’s Theme”.
Aaron’s songwriting success led to him forming January Music, a music publishing company, and Musicor, a record label pretty much established to launch Gene Pitney’s career. The two of them penned “Rubber Ball” for Bobby Vee, although Pitney was curiously credited as “Ann Orlowski”.
In the ‘60s and ‘70s, Schroeder was also responsible for accelerating the careers of JimiHendrix, George Jones, and Randy Newman, although a spate of lawsuits eventually forced him to sell off his companies to United Artists. Aaron passed away on 2nd December 2009, at 83 years of age.
