He is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer born in Huntington Park, California, who became a founding member of the band Ambrosia in 1971 and wrote many of their hits. They split up in 1983/4 but reformed in 1997. He has since left the group.
He is now a solo artist, Grammy winning record producer and music director of special events. He directed both the Clinton inaugurations, wrote the film song “Our Love” with Michael McDonald for the film No Mercy and duetted with Bette Midler on the Beaches soundtrack. He regularly collaborates with James Ingram, Michael McDonald and Alan Parsons.
He has contributed to the album The Essential Kenny Loggins, played guitar and assisted on the Michael McDonald albums No Lookin’ Back and The Voice of Michael McDonald, and sang backing vocals on the Kansas albums Vinyl Confessions and Drastic Measures and Al Stewart’s The Year of the Cat. He has also been in a solo project collaborating with Timothy Schmidt of the Eagles and Steve Perry of Journey amongst others.
