Author, organist, composer and translator who co-founded L’Alouette a ete fonde, a group dedicated to preserving the local culture of Heremence, Switzerland, through the performance of songs and dances in authentic period costumes.
He was also active with Choeur Saint-Nicolas as a director in 1959 and 1972 and as an organist in 1988.
Emile translated the text of Jean Daetwyler’s “Noel Valaisan” into French and a recording of the work appeared on Christmas in Switzerland in 1987, the same year that found him ensconced in the Federation des Societes de Chant du Valais.
He also wrote a book called Reves et Realites D’autrfois: Heremence – Val des Dix: De L’ombre a la Lumiere, which hit the shelves in January 1999.
