Wolf, Robert (1948-Present)

He is a flautist and teacher born in Leinz, Austria, who studied flute and composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.  He also obtained a Masters Degree in Arts Teaching for flute and piano.

In 1975 he became a teacher at the university and also attended many national and international summer schools where he has given lectures.

In 1976 he was given a position in the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and appeared in numerous concerts and on recordings with them.  Five years later he also became a member of Concentus Musicus Wien.

In October 2012 he performed the Tamino Trio (Haydn) concert with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra at the Brahms Hall of the Musikverein Wien.

He has made many appearances as a guest soloist and/or chamber musician with ensembles such as the Baroque Ensemble of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Deutsches Kammerorchester Frankfurt, the Jeunesse Chamber Orchestra and the Wiener Concert-Verein.

Recordings he has featured on include Mozart: Clarinet Concerto; Oboe Concerto; Concerto for Flute & Harp, Haydn: Symphonies 6-8, Haydn: Symphonies 31, 59 & 73 and Handel/Telemann: Apollo E Dafne/Ino with Concentus Musicus Wien.

He has also performed recitals with his daughter Agnes Wolf.

He has now retired from performing with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

He has also been a University Professor of flute.
