Double-bassist from Styria, Austria, who attended the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and studied with Ludwig Streicher.
Groups with whom he has worked include Bass Instinct, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Dolby’s Around, Klangforum Wien, the Vienna Art Orchestra, the Vienna Bass&oon Quartet, the Vienna Chamber Ensemble, Vienna Concert-Verein, the Vienna Symphony Jazz Project and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.
On 1st December 2008, he and violist Johannes Flieder, pianist Fabio Luisi, violinist Anton Sorokow and cellist Christoph Stradner interpreted trios by Franz Joseph Haydn and “Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667” by Franz Schubert.
He and Damian Arenas gave the world premiere of Simon Garcia’s “Californian Duett” at the School of Advanced Musical Studies in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, on 8th July 2011.
On 17th February 2013, he was the double-bassist du jour when members of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra premiered “Joseph’s Lonely Heart Septet” by Hyung-ki Joo. Hyung-ki also acted as narrator in the recital’s second act: L’Histoire du Soldat by Igor Stravinsky.
