Weinberg, Jay (8 September 1990 – Present)

Drummer from Middletown Township, New Jersey, whose father is Max Weinberg, the long-time drummer for the E Street Band, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and The Tonight Show.  He grew up playing goalie for a travelling hockey team and went on to play for Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School.  His other interest was music and he started playing the guitar when he was nine years old, graduated to the bass, and then discovered his father’s old drum set in the basement and was transfixed.  He transported it to the barn attic and started playing around on it.

Soon he was good enough to sit in with local bands just as The Bouncing Souls and The Used.  He also played in the heavy-metal outfit, Chaosis.  Then he answered an ad on Craigslist looking for a drummer and auditioned for the punk-rock group, The Reveling.  They immediately hit it off and he has been with them ever since.

In 2008, he made an appearance with the E Street Band at Giants Stadium and took his father’s place at the drum kit on Bruce Springsteen’s classic, “Born to Run”.  It would not be his last.  When Max was getting ready to launch the new Tonight Show with his long-time associate, Conan O’Brien, Bruce tapped Jay to fill in for him on his Working on a Dream tour.  Recently, The Reveling released a new album, entitled 3D Radio.

In 2014 he became the drummer for Slipknot following Joey Jordison leaving the band.

Jay is also studying business and marketing at New Jersey’s Stevens Institute of Technology.  He has his own radio program on the campus station, All Things Inconsiderate.
