Warner, Doug

He is a trombonist, transcriber and teacher born in Hanover, Pennsylvania, who studied at the University of Tennessee and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

In 1985 he took on the position of Principal Trombone for the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, which he still currently holds, and for eleven years from 1986 he was a member of Tim Zimmerman & The King’s Brass, who his brother Tony also performed with, and with whom he has appeared on four recordings that include Christmas with Tim Zimmerman & The King’s Brass and Americana and his transcription of Handel’s “For Unto Us a Child is Born” appears on The Best of Organ & Brass.

Often making appearances with other orchestras he has been heard with the Nashville Chamber Orchestra, the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, the Northern Kentucky Symphony and the Dayton Philharmonic.

In the world of musical education he is an Assistant Professor of Music in the School of Music at Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee, and also gives private tuition.
