Vladar, Michael (1962-Present)

He is a timpanist and professor born in Vienna, Austria who studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna from 1978.

He has gone on to perform with many ensembles and orchestras that include Camerata Academia, Concentus Musicus Wien, who he joined in 1986, Ensemble Kontrapunkte, Ensemble “Die Reihe”, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Wiener Kammer Orchester and Supercussion Wien.  In 1990 he became a member of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

Busy in the recording studio he has performed on albums that include Mozart – Sandor Vegh by Camerata Academia, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Leopold Mozart – Serenata Notturna K.239/Notturno K.286/Bassoon Concerto in B flat major K.191/Trumpet Concerto in D Major, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Coronation Mass KV 317 – Vesperae Solenne De Confessore KV 339 and Haydn – The Seven Last Words of Our Savior on the Cross by Concentus Musicus Wien, and Mozart – Salzburg Symphonies by the Vienna Academy.

In the field of musical education he is a Professor of Timpani and has given talks at TNUA on a one week professorship.
