He is a violinist and concertmaster born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, who started learning the violin when he was just six years old and gained his education from the Leningrad School for Gifted Children.
He relocated to the United States in order to take further studies at the Manhattan School of Music, where he had been awarded a scholarship, and the Juilliard School.
He entered the Artist International Young Artists Auditions and after being named as a winner he performed his debut at the Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall. He went on to become another winner at both the Swiss Tibor Varga International Competition and the American Heida Hermann International Competition.
To start the new millennium off in January 2000 he became a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. After five years of performing with the orchestra he became their Assistant Concertmaster in 2005 and has since performed under the leadership of countless conductors that have included Sir Colin Davis, Kurt Masur and Michael Tilson Thomas.
Alongside his performances with the BSO he is an active chamber musician who plays as a member of the Boston Symphony Chamber Players, with Boston’s Walden Chamber Players since 2001 and the LiveArts String Quartet since 2009.
Making other appearances at various concerts and music festivals, he has performed at the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival in the “Boston Comes to Cooperstown” concert and more recently at the Japan Relief Benefit Concert at Ventfort Hall Mansion and the Gilded Age Museum in August 2011.
As a soloist and/or concertmaster he has performed with numerous acclaimed orchestras that include the Absolute Ensemble, Chappaqua Symphony, Jupiter Symphony, the London Philharmonic, Metamorphoses Orchestra, National Symphony of Santo Domingo, NDR Radio Philharmonic, the Rondo Chamber Orchestra, Rotterdam Phiharmonic, Seoul Philharmonic, Paul Taylor Dance Company and WDR Symphony Orchestra.
He has made several recordings with a couple being Chris Botti in Boston and Live in Boston.
In the field of musical education he has also given masterclasses at the S’hampton Art Festival.
