Turner, Steve

He is a drummer, percussionist, keyboardist, singer and producer who grew up in Florida and joined the AFM in Florida when he was 14.  He studied at Florida State University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Percussion and graduated in 1974.

He had worked in many local bands and at gigs while he was a student and after graduation moved to Los Angeles, California where he got a job as a performer in Don Randi & Quest, which was the house band at the jazz club Baked Potato.

Working in the studio he performed with many recordings musicians such as the Wrecking Crew. He also started to record, tour and appear on television with many artists which include year long stints with Roger Miller, Lou Rawls and  Emmylou Harris as well as touring and recording 9 albums with Glen Campbell for 8 years, recording 3 albums and touring with Don Williams for 7 years, touring for 25 years and recording at least 6 albums with Dolly Parton and recording 5 CDs with Travis Tritt.

During the 1990s he was in Prime Time Country’s house band and appeared on television on several broadcasts.  He has also performed on 14 Country Music Association shows.

In the 2000s he continued to tour and record with Dolly Parton as well as turn his hand to writing and producing bands from his own  Sea Shell Recording studio.  He has also performed in the Fernvale Community Church worship team.
