Truelove, Amanda (1961

Cellist from Great Britain who attended the Royal College of Music and studied under Joan Dickson, Amaryllis Fleming, and Johannes Goritzi.

Groups with whom she has worked include the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the London Sinfonietta, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia, the Royal Opera House, Synergy Vocals, the Tiffin Boys’ Choir, and Walker Dance Park Music.

On 6^th and 7^th August 2009, she and pianist Rachel Bennett and percussionist Steve Gibson and Synergy Vocals accompanied Walker Dance Park Music in a production of Law of Motion by Ian McMillan and Ben Park in Hammersmith, London.

The LSO interpreted Gustav Mahler’s “Symphony No. 3” with the help of conductor Semyon Bychkov, the Ladies of the London Symphony Chorus, mezzo-soprano Christine Stotijn and the Tiffin Boys’ Choir at Barbican Hall on 1^st April 2012.

On 2^nd October 2012, the LSO were joined by mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca for an evening of opera highlights that included “Mon Coeur s’ouvre a ta voix” from Samson et Dalila by Camille Saint-Saens, “Plus grand, dans son obscurite” from La Reine de Saba by Charles Gounod, and “Yes, the time has come” from The Maid of Orleans by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Recordings on which she has appeared include The Big Country by the Philharmonia.

In the field of music education, she has taught at the Purcell School, the Royal College of Music, and the University of London. She has also been highly active in the LSO Discovery program.
