Regel, Susanne (1974-Present)

She is an oboist and teacher born in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany who began to study the recorder and modern and historical oboes while at school.  She went on to study at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague and graduated in 2001.

When she was 19 she appeared at the the MSfestival Brugge international competition in Bruges, Belgium as the youngest competitor and reached the semi-final.

By the time she was 20 years old she appeared and recorded as an oboe soloist with Musica Antiqua Ensemble and from there has performed with several national and international ensembles that include Amerstdam Baroque Orchestra, Collegium 1704, Concerto Copenhagen, Concerto Koln, English Baroque Soloists and Freiburger Barockorchester.  She has also been a participant in many music festivals such as Boston Early Music Festival, Prague Spring International Music Festival and Salzburg Festival.

In the field of musical education she has taught several international masterclasses along with being a teacher at the Hochschule fur Musik in Karlsruhe and the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik in Trossingen.

She has performed on more then 50 recordings with some of these including Birth of the Symphony: Handel to Haydn by Academy of Ancient Music, Zelenka: I Penitenti Al Sepolchro Del Redentore by Collegium 1704, The Mozart Album and Georg Friedrich Haendel – Saul by Concerto Koln, Bach – Cantatas BWV 94, 105 and 168 by the English Baroque Soloists and Concerto “Per L’Orchestra Di Dresda”, Lamentationes – Passionmusik, Johann Adolf Hasse: Salve Regina and Bach – Wedding Cantatas by Musica Antiqua Koln along with many others.
