Stover, Evan

He is a fiddle and viola player who has been active in the music industry since the 1970s who played at Smitty’s Bar and Grill with the Arm Brothers and Dan Del Santo on the Coxing Kill in New York in the early 1970s.

In 1976 he joined The Vanaver Caravan , which he still plays at, as well as performing in the 1970s with Fiddle Fever, Walt Michael and Company and David Bromberg’s Big Band.

Fiddle Fever came to the fore with their recording of Jay Ungar’s “Ashokan Farewell” on their Waltz of the Wind album after it had been used as the theme song for the TV documentary series The Civil War.  It became a Grammy Award winner and was nominated for an Emmy.

He played for stage performances of the Off Broadway production of A Thousand Nights and a Night in 1977 and The Robber Bridegroom from 1976 to 1977.
