He is a double bass player who took his studies at the University of Graz. and then moved on to study at the Exposit ur in Oberschutzen.
He won the first prize in the young Musicians competition in 1987 and that same year became a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra.
Several years later he was given a position of a double bass payer in the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in 1994.
Alongside his work with the symphony he has also performed as a member of Circus Bassimus and appeared on their self-titled CD and the Vienna Chamber Ensemble.
