She is an American pianist, teacher, choral conductor and music director who began to play by ear when she was three and won a scholarship to enter the Juilliard School Of Music while still very young. She became the youngest person to have been admitted for the doctoral program and received the Dethier Prize for Outstanding Pianist when she graduated.
In the field of competition she has won 18 national and international awards. She has received three fellowships to the Tanglewood Music Festival, has played every year at the Grand Teton Music Festival since 1989 and was voted the most popular artist at the Lancaster Music Festival where she is pianist-in-residence.
She is regularly heard on radio and has appeared with the Boston Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic Chamber Players and the Philadelphia Orchestra among many others.
Her recordings are extensive and her album with Wynton Marsalis, On The Twentieth Century, went to the Top Ten in the Billboard Charts. She is currently Professor of Music and Artist-in-Residence at Rhode Island College of Music, on the faculty of the New England Conservatory and has taught at Brown University.
