He is a bassoonist and professor who performed with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra from at least the 1980s through to at least the 2000s before retiring.
He also performed with the jazz musician and composer Werner Pirchner, the Vienna Schubert Ensemble and Ensemble Kontrapunkte.
