He is a horn payer born in Vienna, Austria, who took his musical studies at the Lucerne School of Music with the teacher Jakob Hefti.
He was granted a scholarship to Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra’s Orchestra Academy where he was tutored by the horn player Norbert Hauptmann. He later studied the Viennese horn and became a member of the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin in 1994.
Two years later he was employed by the Viennese Symphony Orchestra where he has held the post of Second Horn since 1997. He has also performed and recorded with the Concentus Musicus Wien and Concentus Harmonie.
He has appeared on recordings such as Schumann: Die Symphonien with the VSO.
