Small, Jennifer (28th October 1955-15th June 2015)

She was a violinist who studied at Juilliard and received her Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.  She also received a degree in law from Southwestern School of Law.

She moved to Los Angeles after graduation and worked as a violinist in the recording studio where she performed on movie soundtracks along with Broadway musicals.  She also performed at the 1976 and 1984 Olympics in Montreal and Los Angeles respectively.

She performed with many orchestras and backed musicians such as Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson and George Benson and was heard on many recordings with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Diane Schuur and Barbra Streisand.

She went to law school in 1989 and passed the California Bar Exam and practiced Labor Law in San Francisco before moving to Arizona in 1996 and passing the Arizona Bar Exam.

She married in 1990 and after living in California and Arizona she finally settled in Lake Oswego, Oregon where she raised her family.  She volunteered at the local public schools and taught violin to local students.

She passed away from pancreatic cancer at the Oregon Health and Science University’s Knight Cancer Institute in June 2015 when she was 59 years old.
