Violinist from Montenegro who attended the Academy of Music and Arts in Novi Sad, the Music Academy in Cetinje, the Music School for Talented Pupils in Lyov, and the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow. His teachers included Yuri Golda, his father Igor Simovic, and Marina Yashvili.
In 2004, he participated in the Belgrade Music Festival (BEMUS) where he and pianist Itamar Golan interpreted Christoph Willibald Gluck’s “Orphei Song” and Antonio Bazzini’s “La Rondo des Lutins”.
He appeared at the LYRIC Chamber Music Society of New York on 28th May 2008 for a program entitled “From Russia With Love”. The recital included Igor Stravinsky’s “L’Histoire du Soldat for Clarinet, Violin and Piano” and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “Valse-Scherzo for Violin and Piano”.
On 18th March 2009, he and pianist Tatiana Goncharova were the guest soloists of the Lyric Chamber Ensemble at the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue for a performance of “Concerto for Violin, Piano and String Orchestra” by Felix Mendelssohn.
He joined the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra on 16th October 2010 at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine for Mendelssohn’s “Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 64”.
On 15th December 2010, he was the featured soloist when the London Symphony Orchestra offered up Max Bruch’s “Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 26”.
He and cellist Tim Hugh were front and center on 17th March 2011 at St. Luke’s where they teamed up for George Frideric Handel’s “Passacaglia” as arranged by Johan Halvorsen.
On 7th April 2011, he performed “Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47” by Jean Sibelius with the LSO under the baton of Kristjan Jarvi at the Barbican.
He was the guest soloist of the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra and Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra in May 2011 when he played “Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61” by Ludwig van Beethoven.
In the summer of 2011, he was a senior teacher at the International Master Course for Violin and Stringed Instruments in Kibbutz Eilon, Israel.
He and fellow violinist David Alberman gave a performance demonstration of “Different Trains” and “Violin Phase” by Steve Reich as part of the composer’s 75th birthday celebration on 15th October 2011.
On 10th November 2011, he was the guest soloist of Symphony Nova Scotia at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax where he interpreted “Violin Concerto No. 2” by Sergei Prokofiev. His encore was the “Ballade” from “Violin Sonata No. 3” by Eugene Ysaye.
He joined the Marinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra for Johannes Brahms’ “Violin Concerto” in St. Petersburg, Russia, on 30th December 2011.
In January and February 2012, he performed “Violin Concerto” by Erich Korngold with the SYOA Symphony Orchestra and LSO in Armenia and Ireland, respectively.
He has also served as concert master with Camerata Salzburg and Orquestra Sinfonica do Estado de Minas Gerais and helped co-found the Rubikon String Quartet.
In the field of music education, he has taught at the Music Academy, University of Republic in Montenegro.
