Simms, Frank (1947-Present)

He is a voice-over artist, actor and singer-songwriter who was a founder member of The Simms Brothers Band in 1974.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s he made several tours and was in the recording studio as a session singer for numerous acclaimed artists such as Philip Bailey, Jeff Beck, David Bowie, Harry Chapin, Elvis Costello, Roberta Flack, Ace Frehley, Al Green, INXS, Billy Joel, Chaka Khan, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, The Psychadelic Furs, Carly Simon, Belouis Some, Dionne Warwick and Brian Wilson and appeared on chart hit songs including “Material Girl” by Madonna and “Modern Love”, “China Girl” and “Let’s Dance” by David Bowie.

Albums he appeared on include Like a Virgin by Madonna, Let’s Dance, Black Tie White Noise and Changes by David Bowie, River of Dreams and Greatest Hits Vols. 1, 2 & 3 by Billy Joel, Reflections by Carly Simon, Do You by Sheena Easton, Sings Cole Porter by Dionne Warwick, Night to Remember by Cyndi Lauper, Holiday by Robert Flack, Greatest Hits by Marc Cohn, Talk Normal by Laurie Anderson, Come As You Are by Peter Wolf, Gold Medal Collection and Greatest Stories Live by Harry Chapin, B-Movie Matinee by Nile Rodgers, Midnight to Midnight by The Psychedelic Furs, Loaded Deck by Ace Frehley, Some People by Belouis Some, Shine Like It Does by INXS and the soundtracks of Anastasia, Pokemon: The First Movie.

Taking his voice into the film and television studios he has made his name in movies, TV series and commercials and is recognised as Kool-Aid Man, Honeycomb Craver and the Coca-Cola polar bears among other characters. Television shows he has been heard on are Between the Lions, Dragon Tales and Saturday Night Live as the singer of its weekly TV Funhouse theme and in the movies he has spoken or sung on Mickey Blue Eyes, Working Girl, Anastasia and Tarzan.

Keeping up with modern times he has also done voices for the video games Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne.
