He is a trumpeter and teacher born to a musical family in Champaign, Illinois, who started his life in music by learning the piano when he was six years old.
Four years later he left his piano studies to concentrate on learning to play the trumpet and was given assistance by several tutors during his school years. After his graduation in 2007 he moved on to the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University where he was awarded his Master’s degree in 2009.
While he was a student in Texas he worked as a freelance musician and with other fellow students became a founding member of the City Limits Brass and was a 2005 award winning member of the Texas Trumpet Quartet when they performed in the National Trumpet Competition.
During 2008 and 2009 he was a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center and in 2009 he went on to win the Voison Trumpet Award, perform at the Kennedy Center for the Millennium Stage series’ Conservatory Project and become a member of the New World Symphony.
Performing at various music festivals and with several other orchestras during his professional career he has played the trumpet with Austin City Brass Ensemble, the Brazos Valley Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Houston Symphony and Santa Fe Symphony.
