Shook, Jerry

He is an American guitarist who was been in the industry since at least the 1960s when he was a member of the group The Cherokees  who were a house band at East Point Auditorium in Atlanta and played for many top country music stars who performed there and made an appearance on the album The Patsy Cline Collection.

In 1962 he became a co-founder of Window Music Publishing and Tomake Music with Pete Drake and others.

He became one of the top rated session guitarists in Nashville who appeared and/or recorded with countless artists.  Some of these include Joan Baez, Vikki Carr, Rosemary Clooney, Narvel Felts, Flatt & Scruggs, Lefty Frizzell, Don Gibson, Merle Haggard, Tom T. Hall, George Hamilton IV, Levon Helm, Al Hirt, Ferlin Husky, Millie Jackson, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, Kris Kristofferson, Gordon Lightfoot, Loretta Lynn, Ronnie Milsap, Mickey Newbury, The Oak Ridge Boys, Dolly Parton, Carl Perkins, Charley Pride, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Billy Joe Shaver, Connie Smith, The Statler Brothers, George Strait, Ernest Tubb, Conway Twitty, Dottie West and Andy Williams among many others.
