Shoemaker, Scott

He is a violinist who studied at Portland State University and the University of Miami (Florida) where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree in 1981.

During his time in Florida he was a member of the Miami String Quartet which took part in the 1981 Quartet Competition in Banff, Alberta and allowed him the chance with the violinist Zoltan Szekely who was an original member of the Hungarian String Quartet.  He also performed with the Florida Philharmonic for three years from 1979 to 1982.

In 1982 he became a member of the Omaha Symphony Orchestra and remained there for the rest of his career to date.  He has also performed with other orchestras that include Des Moines Opera Orchestra, the Oregon Chamber Orchestra, Mannheim Steamroller, Omaha Chamber Music Society, the Peninsula Music Festival (Wisconsin) and the Peter Britt Festival (Oregon) Orchestra.

Recordings he has performed on include Stay Gold by First Aid Kit, Christmas, A Fresh Aire Christmas and Christmas Live by Mannheim Steamroller and Classical Gas by Mason Williams and Mannheim Steamroller.
