Scott, Henry G. (1944-Present)

He is a double bass player born in Dorothy, New Jersey who is married to Yumi Ninomiya Scott who is a retired violinist from The Philadephia Orchestra.

His career as an orchestral musician has seen his playing with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Symphony of Philadelphia, the Opera Company of Philadelphia and the Rochester Philharmonic.

He toured Australia, New Zealand and Japan with the New York Philharmonic as a substitute musician in 1974 and that same year  became a member of The Philadelphia Orchestra.  He retired from The Philadelphia Orchestra in 2016 after 42 years service.

Recordings he has performed on include Peter Tchaikovsky: Symphony No.6 “Pathetique”/Dumka by The Philadelphia Orchestra.

In the field of musical education he has been on the faculty of the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts where he taught double bass.
