He is a horn player and professor born in Lower Austria who entered the University of Music and Performing Arts in 1970. He graduated with a distinction in 1978.
In 1973 he made recordings that were broadcast on television and radioand worked as a chamber music soloist and a member of the Northeast Wind Quintet. Three years later he joined the Tunkstlerorchester Lower Austria as their Principal Horn.
1978 was the year that he became a horn player with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and in 1980 he also joined the Concentus Musicus Wien. Ten years later in 1990 he joined the VSO’s Johann Strauss Ensemble. He has now retired.
His work in the recording studio has seen him performing on albums such as Schubert: The Complete Secular Choral Works by the Arnold Schoenberg Choir, Handel/Teleman and Haydn: Die Sieben Letzten Worte Unseres Erlösers Am Kreuze with Concentus Musicus Wien and Haydn: Zingarese; Nocturnes by the Ensemble Bella Musica de Vienne.
