Santiglia, Peggy (4th May 1944-Present)

She is a singer born in Orange, New Jersey who was a member of The Angels whose major hit was “My Boyfriend’s Back” on which she did the spoken introduction. They had previously been known as The Blue Angels and The Starlets. As a member of The Angels she backed stars including Neil Diamond, Jackie Wilson, Frankie Valli, Frank Sinatra and on the No.1 Lou Christie hit “Lightnin’ Strikes”.

She became a staff writer for April Blackwood Music in New York writing songs such as “Beggin'” which reached No.11 and “September Rain” with Bob Gaudio for Frankie Valli.  She toured with The Serendipity Singers in the late ’60s and recorded as Dusk, the female counterpart to Dawn, with The Tokens as her producers.  She had two US chart records “Angel Baby” and “I Hear Those Church Bells Ringing” and a Brazilian album for export in the ’70s.

In 2008 she and The Angels recorded an album of new material which is their first since the 1970s.
