She is a violist and teacher, born in Chile, who relocated to the United States and took her musical studies in New York. She attended the Juilliard School of Music and graduated from there with her bachelors and masters degrees as well as her doctorate.
In her career as a professional musician she has held the position of Principal Violist with several ensembles that include the American Composers Orchestra, the Colonial Symphony, the Lyrica Chamber Players, Manhattan Philharmonic the Opera Orchestra of New York and the Pierrot Consort Chamber Ensemble. She has also performed with the New York Pops Orchestra, toured Europe with Barbra Streisand, performed on the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera and performed at the White House with the Eos Orchestra.
As a chamber musician she has premiered contemporary works as a member of Canta Libre, the New Music Consort and the Group for Contemporary Music. She has also performed chamber music with the Elysium Ensemble, the Ge Gan-ru Ensemble and the Modern Works String Quartet
Giving solo performances she has taken part at the Aspen Music Festival, the Great Lakes Music Festival, Mostly Mozart and the Spoleto Festival in Italy. She has also been a soloist with The Bronx Art Ensemble, Long Island University’s C.W. Post Orchestra, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of New York, The Queens Chamber Band with whome she also performed on viola d’amore, the University of Southern California Symphony Orchestra. She has appeared on several recordings during her career to date that include Mozart: Elysium String Quartet and Friends by the Elysium String Quartet, Fall of Baghdad by the Ge Gan-nu Ensemble, Embrya by Maxwell, Harpsichord Alive: New York City Music by the Queens Chamber Band and The Complete Columbia Albums Collection by Woody Shaw as well as Virgil Thomson: Chamber Works and the original cast recordings of Nine and Sunday in the Park with George.
In the field of musical education she has held masterclasses and performed as a recitalist in Asia while on State Department tours and has held a faculty position at the Bennington Chamber Music Conference, the CW Post Chamber Festival, Long Island University and New York University.
