He is a bass singer who earned his Bachelor’s degree in theatre from Augustana College in Illinois and took further studies for his Master’s degree in voice at the University of Minnesota.
He has gone on to work in a whole range of genres in the musical world ranging from rock bands to opera in Europe to being a member of the Dale Warland Singers and later The Singers.
He has worked on studio productions and in 1996 was a singer on several episodes of Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion. In 1998 he was a member of the chorus for a production of Tosca by the Minnesota Opera and in Easter 2020, during the COVID restrictions, he was a choir section leader with singers at House of Hope on a livestream
