Rogers, Charmel

He is a guitarist, keyboardist and songwriter/composer who studied at the City College in New York until the mid-1980s.

He is self-taught on the guitar and in recent years joined as a member of the group B.T. Express who have performed with them at gigs throughout the United States and in Japan.

In 2005 he was co-writing promos and in 2007 he was the guitarist on the debut CD EP of the singer Myoshi Marilla and also appears as “Charmel Rogers and Friends” on stage with her.

In 2005 he returned to City College as a Mellon Mays Fellow to take further studies for a degree in Music and Jazz Performance and in 2007 was the first recipient of the Evelyn Buckstein Scholarship through The BMI Foundation.
