Robson, Anthony

He is an oboist and conductor both in North Yorkshire, England.

He studied at the Royal Academy of Music and while he was a student he became interested in period instruments and has since become known for being a specialist in performances using the historical oboe.

He is a Principal Oboe for Collegium Musicum 90 and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and as a soloist and conductor he has appeared all over the world in such places as Warsaw, Berlin, Edinburgh, Tanglewood, New York and all the major venues in London.

He has made many solo recordings as well as being a member of an ensemble and his Concerto in A for Oboe d’Amore and Concerto for Oboe and Violin by J.S. Bach was nominated for a Gramophone Award in 1994.

He was made a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music and works with students on historical instruments and their performance, and he also runs workshops on Baroque Oboe.
