Ridenour, Rich

He is a pianist , conductor and arranger born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who studied at the University of Michigan and the Juilliard School of Music with his teachers including William Bolcom and Louis Nagel.

He has performed in concerts of every genre with artists that include Robert Guillaume, Smokey Robinson, Mercedes Ellington and “B” for Bob in Sesame Street.

His symphony appearances have been with orchestras from Detroit, Grand Rapids and New Mexico, with further appearances with the Cleveland Pops as a soloist and with the Elgin and Dearborn Symphonies as a pops conductor.

He has taught at Calvin College, Western Michigan University, Aquinas College and Grand State University and has developed programs for the Gilmore Keyboard Festival in Kalamazoo as Education Director.

His wife, Stacy, is the Executive Director of the Kalamazoo Symphony and together they commissioned the composer Peter Boyer to write his first piano concerto which Rich premiered in 2007.
