Reinersman, Anna

Harpist who began studying at seven years of age, and became the principal harpist of the Rocky Mountain Symphony when she was only fourteen. She furthered her education at the Manhattan School of Music and Yale, from whence she graduated with a B.A. in Renaissance Studies.

Groups with whom she has worked include the Ariei Duo, the Boston Pops, the Boys of St. Thomas Choir, the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine Choir, the Chameleon Arts Ensemble, the Chappaqua Orchestra, the Cox Ensemble, the Knights, the Larkspur Trio, the Locrian Chamber Players, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Monmouth Civic Chorus, the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, the New York Pops, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Il Quartetto Grattacielo, the Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys, the Sensus Ensemble, the Shakespeare Concerts, the St. Bartholomew’s Boy and Girl Choristers, the Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Westminster Choir College of Rider University.

On 18^th and 19^th November 2000, she accompanied the Monmouth Civic Chorus in a pair of concerts that included “Cantique de Jean Racine” by Gabriel Faure, “Inno a Maria Vergine” by Franz Liszt, “Psalm 80” by Albert Roussel and Saint Cecilia Mass by Charles Gounod in Freehold and Red Bank, New Jersey.

She was in the orchestra pit for a six-year run of The Producers on Broadway from 19^th April 2001 through 22^nd April 2007.

On 17^th August 2002, the Locrian Chamber Players gave the world premiere of Evan Hause’s “Spectral Caravan” at Riverside Church in New York. The recital also featured William Bolcom’s “Celestial Dinner Music” and “Dedicace: A Small Measure of Affection”.

Anna also helped premiere Hause’s “Halcyon Shores” at the Carolina Chamber Music Festival in New Bern, North Carolina, on 13^th September 2003. She co-founded the festival and has also served as its artistic director.

On 24^th January 2004, she did the same for Joseph Summer’s “If By Your Art”, “Sonnet CIV” (“To me fair friend, you never can be old”), “Sonnet CXXX” (My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun”), “Sonnet CXXXIII” (Beshrew that heart that makes my heart to groan”) and “There is a Willow Grows Aslant a Brook” in Traina Hall at Clark University.

She delivered the world premiere of “Polvere et Ombra” by Suzanne Farrin at the Carolina Chamber Music Festival in New Bern, North Carolina, on 13^th September 2008. The following month, she gave the New York Premiere at the Cosmopolitan Club.

From 19^th October 2009 through 17^th January 2010, she was back on Broadway for a revival of the musical comedy, Finian’s Rainbow.

She and mezzo-soprano Kellie van Horn gave the world premiere of “Who is Silvia?” by Joseph Summer in Helen Hills Chapel at Smith College on 25^th March 2010.

On 15^th December 2011, she accompanied the Boys of Saint Thomas Choir in a performance of A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten and “Dancing Day” by John Rutter.

The Larkspur Trio participated in the American Harp Society’s fortieth national conference on 1^st July 2012, when they interpreted “Eye of Night” by David Bruce.
