Reiche, Milana Elise

She is a violinist born in Louisville, Kentucky who studied at the University of Minnesota, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree and went on to gain her Maser of Music degree at Yale University.

She became the concertmaster of the New World Symphony and in 1995 became a member of the Violin section of the Minnesota Orchestra, where she has played as both second and first violin.

During her time with the Minnesota Orchestra she also held the position of concertmaster of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra from 2005 to 2010.

Working as a soloist she has worked with many orchestras that include the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, Cheyenne Symphony, Louisville Orchestra, the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and the New World Symphony.

As a chamber musician she has regularly performed at the Minnesota Orchestra’s Chamber Music series and in the summer months participates in the Steamboat Strings Festival and the Sun Valley Summer Music Festival.  She has performed with the American Soviet Orchestra and participated at several other music festivals during her career where she has performed at the Mainly Mozart Festival, Meadowmount, Schleswig-Holstein and Tanglewood.

Other orchestras and ensembles she has performed with include the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Hill House Chamber Players and the New York Philharmonic as well as regularly appearing with the IRIS Orchestra.

Recordings she has performed on include Celtic Christmas Volume II, Lifescapes: Celtic Christmas, Master of Classical and Pachelbel by Dick Freymuth and Mockingbird Time by The Jayhawks.

In the field of musical education she teaches violin from her home.
