Bassoonist from Montreal, Quebec, who began playing at ten years of age, and studied with Robert Barris, David Carroll, Sidney Rosenberg and Sol Schoebach. He attended the Curtis Institute of Music, the Interlochen Arts Academy, and the Tanglewood Music Center.
In 1983, he became the second bassoonist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, a position he held for six years. He joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 1989 as their Associate Principal Bassoonist. Other groups with whom he has worked include the Boston Pops, for whom he serves as Principal Bassoon, the Concord Chamber Players, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the National Arts Center Orchestra, the Super World Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony, and the Walden Chamber Players, which he co-founded.
In 2006, he helped deliver the American premiere of Hans Werner Henze’s “Adagio, Fugue and Maenads’ Dance”, with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
He and oboist John Ferrillo and pianist Carmen Rodriguez-Peralta interpreted Francis Poulenc’s “Trio” at A World of Music Concert Series” in Bedford, Massachusetts, on 27th April 2007.

In the field of music education, he has taught at the Boston University College for the Arts and the New England Conservatory of Music.
