Price, Rodney

Drummer from Indiana who comprised one half of a brother act in the 1960s with accordionist, Robert Price.  In the 1970s, they emigrated to Central Florida, where Rodney played some local gigs until being plucked by The Bellamy Brothers for live concert and recording dates.  After a brief stint with them, he joined Ricky Skaggs’ band, and appeared on the 1982 album, Highways & Heartaches.

In 1984, he was an erstwhile member of The Dizzy Rambler Band, which was performing as a trio, but needed a drummer to round out their band to open for the likes of Leon Everette and Tanya Tucker.  Rodney appeared on one more Ricky Skaggs album, Favorite Country Songs, in 1985.  (He also made the cut on The Essential Ricky Skaggs, released on CD in 2003.)

In 2001, he joined Carl & Jesse Chambers, Jillian Leigh and Joe Spann at the PolKats Reunion in Winter Haven, Florida.  He and Carl went on to join The Rogues and they performed together at the 2002 Mayfaire Saturday Night in nearby Lakeland.

Rodney is a member of the North Polk Pickers Hall of Fame and continues to perform in and around North Polk County, Florida.
