Plumb, Donald

He is a horn player who began his musical studies in the St. Catherine’s public school system during the 1960s and later continued his studies in the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and at the University of Toronto.

He performed with the St. Catherines Youth Orchestra and the Niagara Symphony during the late 1960s/early 1970s and in 1973 he became a member of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.  In he 1977 rose to the position of Assistant Principal Horn and has remained in that position ever since.  He has also played with several other orchestras and ensembles during his career to date and these include the Banff School of Fine Arts Orchestra, The Citadel Theatre Orchestra, the Edmonton Wind Ensemble, the Hamilton Opera and the New York Symphony.

He is a co-founder and co-ordinator of Capital Brass and has been Executive of the Board of Directors of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and sat on several of their committees.
