Pigneguy, John (1945-Present)

He is a horn player who is a British freelance studio/session musician and author who has appeared with very many artists in the world of classical and popular music.

His work may be heard on Swing When You’re Winning by Robbie Williams, Flaming Pie by Paul McCartney, Greatest Hits, The Twentieth Century Album and Eine Kleine Brass Musik by Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, Both Sides Now and Snapshots in a Diary by Joni Mitchell, Baby, The Stars Shine Bright by Everything But the Girl, Smashing! by Right Said Fred, Very Special Season by Diana Ross, Triple Play by Joe Williams, Thread of Time and Orinoco Flow by Enya, Seal and Seal IIPrivate Life: The Compass Point Sessions by Grace Jones, Strictly for the Birds by Stephan Grappelli and Yehudi Menuhin, The Chamber Music of Malcolm Arnold, The London Horn Sound, and on the many soundtracks such as Fifth Element, Man in the Iron Mask, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Endurance and The Professional (Leon).

As a member of the Michael Thompson Horn Quartet and their work with Sir Paul McCartney, he premiered the composition “Stately Horn” at the Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall.

As an author he has published the article “The Horn In the Studio” which appears in Paul Pritchard’s The Business.
