Pickett, Courtland “Court” (3rd February 1950-Present)

He is a Southern rock singer-songwriter and musician born in Athens, Georgia whose career started in the late 1960s/early 1970s.

He became a member of Sailcat and Rubber Band and also pursued his own career as a solo artist.  With Sailcat he performed on the hit single “Motorcycle Mama” from the album of the same name.  The single reached No. 12 on the Billboard chart.  The album was produced by the studio guitarist, songwriter and producer Pete Carr.  He also performed with the band Sundown on the album of the same name.

Working on his solo career he released the single “You Don’t Grow Old” from his debut album Fancy Dancer.   Just a few of the many musicians which performed on the album include the bassist David Hood, the keyboardist Barry Beckett, the accordionist Charles Stratford and the violinist Bobby Bruce.

As a songwriter he co-wrote the single “Make It Good and Make It Last” with Pete Carr which was recorded by Percy Sledge for his album When a Man Loves a Woman.
