Oshiro-Morales, Amy

She is a violinist who started to study the violin when she was just three years old and went on to receive a Dean’s Talent Award scholarship at the Oberlin Conservatory.  She took her further studies in violin at the Juilliard School.

She has performed as a soloist and orchestral musician and debuted at 12 years old with the Chicago Symphony.  She has since gone on to give solo performances with ensembles that include the Delaware County Symphony, Minnesota Sinfonia, the Napa Valley Symphony and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra among others.

Her work as an orchestral musician has seen her as a guest musician at the New York Philharmonic, as Assistant Concertmaster with the Grant Park Orchestra and the Saint Louis Symphony and as Associate Concertmaster Chair with the Colorado Symphony.  She became a second violin with The Philadelphia Orchestra in 2008 and was the Assistant Concertmaster during the 2012-13 season.

During the summer months she has participated as a guest musician at various musical events that include the Cactus Pear Music Festival, Grand Teton Music Festival, Innsbrook Institute, National Orchestral Institute and Sun Valley Summer Symphony.

In the field of musical education she has been a faculty member at the Philadelphia International Music Festival.

She is married to the clarinettist Ricardo Morales.
