Min, Chouhei

She is a violinist born in Korea who studied at the Boston University and graduated from Connecticut’s Hartt College of Music.  She took further studies at Yale School of Music where she earned her Master of Music degree in 1972. While a student there in 1971 she performed as First Violin in a production of When We Dead Awaken by the Yale Repertory Theatre.

In 1974 she was appointed as a violinist with the Minnesota Orchestra where she served as Associate Concertmaster until 1990.

As a chamber musician she has performed and recorded as a member of Ensemble Capriccio.

Recordings she has performed on included String Trios and Skrowaczewski’s World by Ensemble Capriccio and Chamber Works and A Chamber Fantasy by Stephen Paulus.

In 1999 her violin, The ‘Hart’ Giovanni Battista Guadaganini made in Turin in 1778, was stolen after she had finished a church performance with her trio and it was left in the basement while she attended the reception upstairs.
