He is an orchestral and chamber violinist and teacher born in Canada who earned his Master’s degree at Indiana University alongside studying with the CSO concertmaster Sidney Harth and Ivan Glamian.
Performing for two seasons with the St. Louis Sympony he went on to become a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1975. He followed that in 1979 with becoming a co-founder of the Evanston Chamber Ensemble.
He has made appearances at the CSO Chamber Music series and the Ravinia Festival Chamber Music Series and been a soloist with the Chicago String Ensemble.
Recordings he has performed on include Brahms: Violin Concerto/Sonata No. 3, Wagner: Overtures and Preludes and Corigiliano: Symphony No. 1 with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, I’ll Keep on Loving You by Linda Clifford, Christmas Celebration, Christmas Extraordinaire, Freshe Aire 7 and Yellowstone: The Music of Nature by Mannheim Steamroller, All My Reasons by Noel Pointer and Concerts Under the Dome and Mood Shifts by various artists.
In the field of musical education he joined the violin faculty of Northwestern University in 1984, now being an Adjunct Associate Professor, where he holds the position of the director of Northwestern’s Summer Violin Institute, which he established in 2011, as well as being the director and originator of their Winter Chamber Music Festival. He has given many national and international master classes.
