She is a violinist born in Oklahoma who started to learn the violin on a Suzuki program when she was 5 years old and went on to be a winner of the Buttram String Awards in 1989. Her further studies were taken at the Eastman School of Music, where she graduated from in 1993, before earning her Master of Music at Rice University in 1995.
Following her studies she was a member of the Kansas City Symphony for seven years and in 1999 played with the Pacific Music Festival International Orchestra, by invitation, on a tour of Japan.
A participant in many music events she has performed at the Colorado Music Festival, Grant Park Music Festival at the National Orchestra Institute and Tanglewood among others.
2002-03 saw her performing with the St. Louis Symphony and at the end of the season she became a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Her husband is the cellist Eran Meir and they have two daughters.
