McDade, David H. “Butch” (24th February 1946-29th November 1998)

He was a drummer, born in Clarksdale, Missouri, who founded the Amazing Rhythm Aces along with Howard Russell Smith and Jeff Davis in 1972 in Memphis.  He and Jeff Davis had previously backed singer Jesse Winchester.

He appeared with the group on Saturday Night Live and Austin City Limits and toured and recorded with artists including Leon Russell, Roy Clark and Tanya Tucker.

He died of cancer at his home in Maryland, Tennessee, on 29th November 1998 aged 52.
