McClure, Patrick (1951-Present)

He is a guitarist, arranger and songwriter born in Laguna Beach, California, who began learning to play music with the bongos and a ukulele when he as about 8 years old.  By the time he got to high school he had a set of drums and by 1967 he had moved over to the harmonica and guitar.

He became a member of the Californian band The Peppermint Trolley Company in the 1960s which had been formed by his friend Danny Faragher who he had first met while he was at San Bernadino Valley College.  They made appearances on the TV show Groovy and appeared in an episode of The Beverly Hillbillies.  He then shocked the rest of his band mates when he left the group to go and get married, but was still involved as a collaborator on song writing with Danny..

The group later evolved into Bones with Patrick re-joining them in 1972 as their second guitarist and writing songs for them such as “More or Less” which appeared on their Waitin’ Here album.

In 1978 he collaborated with the songwriter and producer David Castle and they wrote the song “Everything I Love (That’s What You Are)” and many of the songs that appeared on David’s Love You Forever.  A few years later they joined Giorgio Moroder in the studio to perform on the soundtrack of the Award Winning Midnight Express.

The following decade he wrote the lyrics to “The Gallery in the Park” for the screenplay in 1996.
