Maebe, Arthur (1930-December 1994)

French horn player who was a fixture in the L.A. session scene of the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s.

Groups with whom he performed comprise the Abnuceals Emuukha Electric Symphony Orchestra, Frankie Crocker’s Heart and Soul Orchestra, the Hollywood Studio Symphony, John Buck and His Blazers, the Planet Earth Rock and Roll Orchestra, and Universe.

On 21^st June 1971, he provided overdubs for Elvis Presley’s recordings of “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”, “If I Get Home on Christmas Day”, “It’s Only Love”, “Love Me, Love the Life I Lead”, “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “Padre”, “A Thing Called Love”, “We Can Make the Morning” and “The Wonderful World of Christmas”.

He appeared on the 45, “Ape Shuffle”/”Escape from Tomorrow” by Lalo Schifrin in 1974. It turned up later on the compilation, Most Wanted 1968-1979.

He died in La Crescenta, California, in 1994 when he was 64 years old.
